Kogabwilhan III Uncovers 5,715 Cannabis Plants in Papua Highlands

A joint border security task force, Satgas Pamtas RI-PNG Mobile Yonif 725/Woroagi, operating under the control of the Defence Joint Regional Command III (Kogabwilhan III), has uncovered cannabis fields in two separate locations in Kurima District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Highlands. Kogabwilhan III Commander Lieutenant General TNI Lucky Avianto stated in Jayawijaya on Sunday (19/7) that a total of 5,715 cannabis plants were uprooted by the authorities. He suspects the illicit substance was being used to support the activities of the Free Papua Organisation (OPM) group.
