Surabaya-based coffee SME Koffiku is utilising coffee from several regions in Indonesia as raw material for its instant coffee products. The use of Nusantara coffee is carried out by matching the characteristics of each coffee bean with the product formulations developed by Koffiku.

Koffiku Export Marketing Ira Susanti said that Koffiku uses coffee from a number of regions, including Temanggung for Robusta and Mandailing for premium Arabica. The selection of raw materials is done by considering the flavour character of the coffee so that it suits the product being produced.

“For Robusta, we take it from Temanggung. Because we look at the taste, we find Temanggung suits us best,” Ira said to Republika at the SMEXPO Merah Putih 2026 exhibition at Grha Pertamina on Tuesday (11/8/2026).

Meanwhile, for premium Arabica coffee, Koffiku uses raw materials from Mandailing, North Sumatra. Ira said Koffiku also has access to coffee from other regions such as Toraja and Aceh.

“We have Toraja, Aceh, Temanggung, Mandailing. But not all of them are used; we adjust them to the formulation,” she said.

The coffee from these various regions is then developed into instant products without grounds. With this concept, consumers can brew the coffee directly without having to deal with residue after the drink is consumed. Koffiku has several black coffee variants, namely Robusta, Robusta Gourmet, Arabica, Arabica Gold, and Blend. The company also offers latte variants such as Cappuccino, Vanilla Latte, Hazelnut, Almond, and 2 in 1.

For the Blend variant, Koffiku uses a mixture of 70 percent Robusta and 30 percent Arabica. This formulation is one of the product options offered by Koffiku to consumers. Ira said the development of instant coffee products is part of Koffiku’s efforts to present practical coffee products. Previously, Koffiku’s business also started from spice-based products before seeing opportunities for business development in the coffee sector.
