Koelnmesse and Amara Expo Form Joint Venture to Strengthen Indonesia's MICE Industry
Koelnmesse and AMARA Expo (PT Amara Pameran Internasional) have strengthened their strategic partnership through the formation of a joint venture, PT Nine Koeln Indonesia. This move is designed to drive growth within the trade exhibition industry and expand international market access for Indonesian businesses. The establishment of PT Nine Koeln Indonesia serves as a strategic step amidst Indonesia’s stable economic growth and the increasing potential of the national MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) industry.
As the largest economy in Southeast Asia, Indonesia has recorded an annual economic growth of approximately 5 per cent, supported by demographic strength and regional trade activities. Simultaneously, the national MICE industry is projected to grow by up to 15 per cent throughout this year.
PT Nine Koeln Indonesia will focus on improving the quality of trade exhibitions, strengthening international participation, and creating broader business opportunities for Indonesian companies to reach the global market.
“The establishment of PT Nine Koeln Indonesia marks an important milestone in our journey with Koelnmesse,” said Etty Anggraeni, Managing Director of PT Nine Koeln Indonesia, in a statement on Monday (18/05/2026).
Etty noted that the collaboration between the two parties has existed since the organisation of the Indonesia Dental Exhibition & Conference (IDEC) in 2017 and has continued to evolve through several international exhibitions in Indonesia.
“Through this collaboration, we are taking a significant step in providing high-quality platforms and creating more opportunities for Indonesian business players to connect globally,” added Etty. The partnership has previously produced several international exhibitions, such as interzum jakarta in 2024 and the International Hardware Fair Indonesia in 2025.
