Kodim 0203/Langkat has completed the construction of a concrete bridge connecting three villages in Salapian District, Langkat Regency, North Sumatra. The bridge links Perkebunan Tambunan Village with Pamah Tambunan Village and Ujung Bandar Village in Salapian District, said Colonel Inf Sandy, Head of Information for the I/Bukit Barisan Regional Military Command, in Medan on Thursday. Sandy stated that the bridge, measuring eight metres in length and three metres in width, is now ready for public use to support mobility and the economic activities of residents. The construction of the bridge aligns with the initiative and vision of President Prabowo Subianto, who has stressed the importance of accelerating infrastructure development to reach remote villages in order to improve public welfare. The presence of the bridge is expected to open better access, strengthen inter-regional connectivity, and support the economic growth of the community in Salapian District. The bridge construction was carried out by personnel from Koramil 05/Salapian, Kodim 0203/Langkat, together with Babinsa officers and local residents through mutual cooperation. During the construction process, personnel carried out the casting of the bridge floor, the building of retaining walls, and the installation of safety fences, concluding with the painting of bridge ornaments in red and white hues. In addition to enhancing the bridge’s appearance, the installation of safety fences and the Red and White flag around the site serves as a symbol of national spirit and togetherness between the Indonesian National Armed Forces and the community. With the completion of the construction, residents’ access has become safer and more comfortable, thereby supporting educational activities, the distribution of plantation products, and the social and economic activities of the community in the area. He noted that the involvement of the TNI in infrastructure development is part of its service to the community and a tangible manifestation of the TNI’s unity with the people. The synergy between the TNI, local government, and the community is expected to continue accelerating development and providing direct benefits for residents’ welfare.
