Banda Aceh (ANTARA) — Personnel from Kodim 0108/Southeast Aceh, under the Iskandar Muda Military Command (Kodam), together with local residents are constructing a suspension bridge following flash floods in Mamas Indah village, Darul Hasanah subdistrict, Southeast Aceh regency.

The Iskandar Muda Military Command’s public information office stated on Monday that the bridge construction is part of post-disaster infrastructure recovery efforts following flash floods and landslides that struck the area some time ago.

The natural disaster caused damage to a number of public facilities, including vital inter-village access routes used for daily community activities.

The conditions had hampered residents’ mobility, particularly in carrying out economic activities, education, and healthcare services. The construction of the suspension bridge became a priority to restore regional connectivity.

The Iskandar Muda Military Command stated that the bridge construction represents a tangible example of synergy between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and local communities in improving village infrastructure and facilitating transport access, as well as other daily activities, thereby positively contributing to improved economic conditions and public welfare.

TNI soldiers worked alongside residents on tasks including the installation of the bridge frame, reinforcement of support pillars, and the laying of flooring and safety sling cables.

All stages were carried out with great care to ensure the construction is sturdy, safe, and suitable for long-term use.

Azwar, a local resident, expressed gratitude to Kodim 0108/Southeast Aceh for their concern and assistance. The presence of TNI soldiers helped ease the community’s burden in building inter-village access routes.
