Kodam VI/Mulawarman: SPPI Basic Military Training Participant Dies from Heat Stroke
The Military Regional Command (Kodam) VI/Mulawarman has confirmed that Anisa Muyassaroh, a participant in the Basic Military Education and Training (Diklatsarmil) for the Sarjana Penggerak Pembangunan Indonesia (SPPI) programme, died as a result of severe heat stroke. Anisa was undergoing training at the Dodikjur Rindam VI/Mlw. The extended family of Kodam VI/Mlw, through its spokesperson, Colonel Inf Gatot Teguh Waluyo, expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased. “May the deceased find the best place beside God Almighty, and may the family left behind be granted fortitude and strength in facing this trial,” said the spokesperson. He explained that based on the medical treatment provided by the health team, the deceased had received intensive care at the hospital before being pronounced dead. “From the medical examination results, the deceased suffered heat stroke, which caused serious disruption to organ functions and subsequently led to complications that could not be overcome,” he stated. It was emphasised that prior to joining the Diklatsarmil, the deceased had undergone all selection stages, including a health examination in accordance with applicable standards. Based on the results of that examination, she was declared medically fit to participate in the SPPI Diklatsarmil programme. Since the onset of the incident, Kodam VI/Mlw, together with the Ministry of Defence, the organising committee, and the health team, provided rapid treatment in accordance with procedures. The deceased immediately received medical assistance, was referred to a health facility, and underwent intensive care by medical personnel. “As a form of responsibility and care, Kodam VI/Mlw together with the Ministry of Defence has also provided assistance to the family of the deceased, from the period of hospital care, the repatriation of the body, to the handover to the family at the funeral home,” concluded Colonel Inf Gatot Teguh Waluyo.
