Kodam V Brawijaya Tightens Surveillance Following Commander's Alert Status 1 Instruction
Kodam V/Brawijaya has declared full readiness in implementing the instruction from TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto regarding the implementation of Alert Status 1 across all Indonesian regions.
This represents a precautionary measure against potential escalation of domestic security situations triggered by conflicts in the Middle East region.
The alert order is formally documented in TNI Commander Telegram No. TR/283/2026 issued on 1 March 2026. The document was signed by the TNI Commander’s Operations Assistant, Lieutenant General Bobby Rinal Makmun, which instructed TNI units in the regions to heighten vigilance towards national situation dynamics.
Responding to the order, Deputy Commander of Kodam V/Brawijaya Lieutenant Colonel Yudo Aji Susanto stated that Kodam V/Brawijaya personnel remain fully aligned with every policy established by TNI General Headquarters. He noted that intensive coordination continues to be conducted to ensure stability in East Java remains secured amid geopolitical turmoil.
“Essentially, we at Kodam V/Brawijaya as a subordinate unit remain aligned with the policy of the upper command,” said Yudo when confirmed by CNNIndonesia.com on Tuesday (10 March).
Beyond strengthening internal coordination, Kodam V/Brawijaya is also conducting intensive mapping of territorial conditions. Yudo explained that although the regional situation in East Java remains manageable, monitoring of information developments and potential vulnerabilities remains a top priority.
“Of course by taking into consideration the situation and the region and always monitoring situation developments and continuously following upper command directives,” he added.
TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto has ordered his personnel to implement Alert Status 1 and prepare anticipatory measures regarding situation developments caused by Middle East conflicts.
TNI Commander Telegram No. TR/283/2026 was signed by the TNI Commander’s Operations Assistant, Lieutenant General Bobby Rinal Makmun on 1 March 2026.
The letter contains seven instructions for units to commence alert status by preparing a number of strategic measures domestically should escalation from the Iran conflict with the United States and Israel continue unabated.
