Kodam Pattimura honours outstanding soldiers for social welfare contributions
Ambon (ANTARA) - The XV/Pattimura Military Regional Command (Kodam) has presented awards to five outstanding soldiers for their contributions and social concern that have had a significant impact on the community and supported people’s welfare programmes in Maluku and North Maluku.
“Achievement or violation is a life choice. I hope this award serves as motivation for all soldiers to continue providing their best service to the community,” said the Commander of Kodam XV/Pattimura, Major General TNI Dody Triwinarto, while leading the flag ceremony at the Kodam XV/Pattimura Parade Ground, Ambon, on Monday.
He noted that the five award recipients demonstrated dedication through territorial actions, humanitarian efforts, and social care that provided direct benefits to the public.
The first award was presented to Major Inf Ikbal Hanafi, acting as Pasilat Siops Korem 152/Baabullah, who successfully engaged communities in several villages in East Halmahera, leading to the voluntary donation of 400 hectares of land for the Indonesian Army’s use.
Additionally, Pelda Amran Latukaisupi, serving as Bamintuud Jasdam XV/Pattimura, received an award for successfully mobilising community support in West Seram Regency to donate 40 hectares of land to support the construction of Yon TP 8mu/Satria Manewata.
The Commander also expressed appreciation to Captain Inf Yus Budi Harto, Danramil 1501-03/Jailolo, for his humanitarian actions in helping to repatriate and rebuild the home of a family who had been evicted by residents due to unproven allegations.
Furthermore, an award was given to Corporal Mario Gino, a village officer (Babinsa) in Todowongi, whose viral action of carrying school students across a river drew the attention of the central government, leading the Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) to construct a suspension bridge worth Rp7 billion in the area.
Lastly, Lieutenant Colonel Inf Hendra Surya Ningrat, Kasbrig 27/Nusa Ina, received an award for rescuing a married couple who nearly drowned in the waters of the Tanimbar Islands during his tenure as Dandim 1507/Saumlaki.
Commander Dody Triwinarto stated that these awards serve as institutional appreciation for soldiers capable of providing real solutions within the community. He emphasised that Army soldiers must maintain their spirit of service, increase social awareness, and act as part of the solution to community issues within their respective areas of duty.
In a mandate from the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, which was read by the Commander, all soldiers and civil servants of the Indonesian Army were also reminded to be wise in addressing issues and to prioritise collective solutions with the community. The Army Chief also requested that all ranks of the Indonesian Army maintain professionalism, focus on their primary duties, and avoid all forms of legal violations.
