Koba Tin has new president

SINGAPORE: Indonesia-based PT Koba Tin named Mohd Anuar Sidek the president director of the company effective Friday, replacing Peter Jackson, Malaysia Smelting Corp. Bhd. said in a statement.

The change followed Malaysia Smelting's acquisition of a 75 percent stake in the Indonesian tin producer from Australia-based Iluka Resources Ltd. in April this year, the company said.

Sidek has been the chief executive of Tronoh Mines Malaysia Bhd. before joining Koba Tin.

Koba Tin's production capacity is 10,000 metric tons a year. PT Tambang Timah holds the other 25 percent in the company. --Dow Jones--
