Jakarta (ANTARA) - The General Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian National Youth Committee (DPP KNPI), Haris Pertama, has urged all elements of the nation, particularly the youth, to maintain national stability by not being provoked by issues circulating in the public sphere.

In a written statement confirmed by ANTARA in Jakarta on Monday, Haris stated that the dynamics of democracy must continue within the framework of the constitution, not through provocative narratives that could potentially divide the nation.

“Society, especially the youth as the pillar of the nation, must be able to act as a cooling element amid the developing situation. Do not get caught in the flow of unverified information that instead triggers division,” he said.

He assessed that issues pushing for impeachment outside constitutional mechanisms not only cause public unrest but also disrupt the national development agenda.

“President Prabowo’s administration is running and accelerating its priority programmes amid global geopolitical turbulence, yet there are groups inciting with various biased opinions,” he stated.

“KNPI has a moral responsibility to safeguard the integrity of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. We invite all cadres and youth elements to continue voicing the spirit of unity,” he added.

Haris also conveyed the importance of supporting the national development programmes currently being implemented by President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.

According to him, the success of development requires political stability and support from all levels of society, especially the younger generation as agents of change.

“The youth must become a constructive force that safeguards the direction of national development. Unity is the main key to realising an advanced and sovereign Indonesia,” Haris remarked.

He further hoped that society could respond to various issues wisely and prioritise national interests over those of groups or factions.

“We must be wiser in addressing various provocative issues and continue to prioritise national interests,” Haris concluded.
