Knocking on Heaven's Door, Pegadaian Distributes Aid to Medan Residents
Pegadaian Regional Office I Medan has once again demonstrated its commitment to social action through the “Mengetuk Pintu Langit” programme, themed Sedekah Jumat, by distributing aid to surrounding communities, particularly around mosques. The event was carried out by the Lodendang Branch Service Unit (UPC) and Sidorukun UPC, under the supervision of the CP Krakatau Branch, on Friday, 1 May 2026.
This programme is part of the Pegadaian Peduli initiative, which is routinely held as a manifestation of the company’s concern for the social conditions of the community. The aid distribution took place at two locations: around Masjid Al-Ma’ruf on Jalan Sidorukun, and Masjid Nur Chadijah in the Wartawan Complex on Jalan Letterpress Ujung.
During the event, the Pegadaian team distributed food packages consisting of boxed cakes and mineral water to the community around the mosques. This aid is expected to provide direct benefits while strengthening values of togetherness and social concern.
Representatives from UPC Lodendang and UPC Sidorukun stated that the Sedekah Jumat activity not only focuses on providing assistance but also serves as a means to strengthen relationships with the community.
“Through this Sedekah Jumat programme, we want to continue to be present among the people and share happiness. May the aid provided be beneficial and bring blessings to us all,” said a Pegadaian representative.
Meanwhile, the Head of the CP Krakatau Branch, Amelia Besty Gaiety, emphasised that this activity is part of the company’s commitment to fulfilling its corporate social responsibility (CSR).
“This event is a concrete form of Pegadaian’s concern for the surrounding community. We are committed to continuously implementing the Sedekah Jumat programme on a sustainable basis so that its benefits can be even wider,” she stated.
The event received a positive response from the beneficiary community, who appreciated Pegadaian’s concern for the surrounding environment.
With the spirit of mengEMASkan Indonesia, Pegadaian Kanwil I Medan will continue to strive to expand the reach of its TJSL programmes to be broader and more equitable, one of which is through the Sedekah Jumat programme, which is hoped to continue providing sustainable positive impacts.
