REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) has stated that it has deployed an investigation team to gather facts regarding the train accident between the KRL Commuter Line and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train at East Bekasi Station on Monday (27/4) evening. KNKT Public Relations Team Leader Anggo Anurogo, when contacted in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/4/2026), explained that the team has been at the location since last night to collect information directly from the field. “The KNKT investigation team has been at the incident site since last night to gather facts and information from the field,” he said. Previously, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi assured the acceleration of evacuation for the train collision incident between the KRL Commuter Line and the Argo Bromo Anggrek at East Bekasi Station. “The Ministry of Transport ensures that evacuation is carried out quickly, prioritising the safety of affected victims,” Dudy said in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday early morning. The Ministry of Transport expressed condolences over the incident. Dudy directly inspected the incident site to ensure the evacuation process runs smoothly. He stated that the counting of the number of victims is still ongoing. The Ministry of Transport will continue to coordinate intensively with all relevant parties to ensure the evacuation process runs optimally in line with developments on the ground. This fatal incident occurred on Monday (27/4) at 20.55 WIB, involving Argo Bromo Anggrek train number 4 on the Gambir–Surabaya Pasar Turi route which collided with the KRL train set at East Bekasi Station (BKST). The SAR team at the incident site reported that as of Tuesday at 05.11 WIB, three out of seven passengers were still trapped inside the KRL carriage number 8, which is a women-only carriage.
