Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Hindu Dharma Student Union (KMHDI) presented an award to Gede Narayana, a commissioner of the Central Information Commission (KI), naming him an Inspirational National Hindu Figure.

KMHDI General Chairman I Wayan Darmawan stated that the award was given as a form of appreciation for Gede Narayana’s dedication, contributions, and commitment to building the Hindu community and supporting Indonesia’s national development.

“This award is a recognition of his consistent track record and service, both to the community and to the nation,” Darmawan said in his statement in Jakarta on Friday.

Darmawan noted that Gede Narayana has a strong history of service, evident from his tangible contributions, including serving as National Chairman of Dharma Santhi in 2025.

Darmawan assessed that Gede Narayana is actively building synergy with various elements, including KMHDI, to encourage the role of young Hindus in contributing to national development.

“Through this award, it is hoped that the KMHDI Award will spark the emergence of more inspirational Hindu figures in various fields, both at the national and regional levels, who can serve as examples for the younger generation,” Darmawan stated.

The award was handed over directly by MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, accompanied by Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal and KMHDI Central Leadership General Chairman I Wayan Darmawan, as part of the XIV National Congress (Mahasabha) of KMHDI held at the Auditorium of Lampung University on Wednesday (1/4).
