Pemalang, Kompas.com - The President Director of Pemalang Batang Toll Road (PBTR), Lasino, has urged Eid travellers traversing the Pemalang-Batang toll road to rest if they feel fatigued while driving.

This advice is particularly aimed at drivers passing kilometre marker 325 towards Semarang, which has been identified as a high-risk fatigue point.

“So on the Pemalang-Batang toll road section, there is indeed one point that we pay special attention to. That’s at kilometre marker 325 towards Semarang. Because at that point, in our terms, drivers have reached a kind of fatigue point there,” Lasino told the Merapah Trans-Java 2026 team at Rest Area KM 319B on Monday (16/03/2026).

Lasino explained that the spot requires attention because many drivers have already been on the road for quite some time before arriving there.

“Yes, a fatigue point, because travellers or drivers, especially, have been driving for about 4 hours. So there’s potential for fatigue to occur there,” he said.

For information, the Merapah 2026 programme receives full support from the Indonesian Toll Association (ATI), PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Honda Prospect Motor (APM), ASTRA Infra, PT Citra Marga Nusaphala Persada Tbk, and Waskita Toll Road.

To anticipate the risk of accidents due to driver fatigue, PBTR has implemented several mitigation measures at KM 325 towards Semarang.

Lasino said that they have installed warning signs as well as rumble strips to alert drivers to be more vigilant.

“We have already mitigated it, and from that mitigation, we try to minimise it by installing signs, then warnings, and also installing rumble strips there,” he said.

In addition, warnings are also conveyed through variable message signs (VMS) installed on patrol vehicles.

Lasino also reminded toll road users not to force themselves to drive if they already feel tired.

“We urge all toll road users to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition. The drivers are also in good health. And certainly, obey traffic signs, maintain distance, maintain speed. And most importantly, if you already feel tired, please rest,” he said.

Lasino stated that PBTR has made various preparations to ensure the smooth flow of Eid outbound and return traffic on the Pemalang-Batang toll road.

“We have prepared this optimally. So to facilitate activities during this year’s Eid outbound and return traffic, God willing, it will be smooth,” he said.

He assured that the toll road conditions, traffic signs, and supporting equipment have been prepared to function properly during the Eid period.

In addition, PBTR has also deployed operational teams at several points that could potentially experience traffic density or other issues.

“And we have also prepared operational teams that we place at certain points where those points have potential, for example, traffic congestion or problems occurring, so we can quickly address them,” he said.
