Klungkung Regent Urges Civil Servants to be More Sensitive to Public Complaints

The Regent of Klungkung, I Made Satria, inaugurated 175 Civil Servants (PNS) at the Ida Dewa Agung Istri Kanya Cultural Centre on Tuesday (2/6/2026). During the inauguration, Satria urged the new civil servants to be responsive and adaptive in their workplaces.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I emphasise that we must transform ordinary performance into extraordinary results. Be adaptive in all conditions and responsive to the needs of the citizens. If there are complaints or feedback, they must be followed up with real action,” Satra asserted.

The politician from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) also highlighted the importance of innovation to avoid being trapped in boring routines. He encouraged the newly sworn-in state servants to work beyond conventional methods.

“Increase innovation and do things that are out of the box. We must provide the best as public servants. I, too, am a servant, working on a five-year outsourcing contract,” Satria added.

Satria explained that the Klungkung Regency Government is actively implementing bureaucratic reforms that are agile, professional, fast, and directly impactful for the community, rather than merely sitting behind piles of paperwork. He noted that the region requires an ASN (State Civil Apparatus) profile that possesses integrity, masters information technology and foreign languages, and remains free from practices of corruption, collusion, and nepotism (KKN).

In addition to civil servants, all state apparatus in the Klungkung Regency Government are required to demonstrate loyalty and uphold core values, namely: Service Oriented, Accountable, Competent, Harmonious, Loyal, Adaptive, and Collaborative (BerAKHLAK). This is deemed essential in facing increasingly complex bureaucratic challenges.

The Head of the Klungkung Human Resources and Personnel Agency (BKPSDM), Ida Bagus Wirawan Adiputra, explained that the hundreds inaugurated consist of 171 civil servants from the 2024 formation, including 111 functional positions. The remaining four civil servants are graduates of the School of Land Transportation (STTD).

“Effective from 1 June 2026, they have officially assumed full civil servant status,” Adiputra stated.
