The Klungkung Regency Government will review the implementation of work from home (WFH) for civil servants (ASN). The review is being conducted considering that not all ASN in local government organisations (OPD) can work from home, especially those involving services.

Klungkung Regent I Made Satria revealed a circular (SE) from the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) regarding the implementation of WFH for ASN every Friday, dated 31 March 2026. According to him, several OPDs are under consideration, such as the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), Health Service, and other service institutions.

“Therefore, after receiving that circular, we need coordination on how it should be, which departments can implement WFH,” said Satria on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

Satria explained that the implementation of WFH cannot be done immediately because his side only received the SE from Kemendagri a day ago. Nevertheless, Satria is committed to considering the central government’s directives.

“We must discuss it first on how to artfully implement this WFH. So at this time, we have not made a decision because we just received it yesterday,” clarified Satria.

It is known that the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian issued an SE on the Transformation of Civil Servant (ASN) Work Culture in local government environments. The SE numbered 800.1.5/3349/SJ contains several provisions, including adjustments to official duties within ASN in local governments (Pemda). It is explained that ASN in Pemda can carry out official duties through a combination of work from office (WFO) and WFH.
