Klungkung Regency Government Assists TNI Retirees in Accelerating Identity Updates
The Klungkung Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil) is assisting retired soldiers in updating their identities. Disdukcapil Klungkung is collaborating with the 1610/Klungkung Military District Command (Kodim) regarding this matter.
“On their very last day of service, retiring soldiers can immediately receive their new electronic ID cards (KTP-el) and Family Cards (KK). Their occupation status, which was previously recorded as ‘TNI’, will officially change to ‘Retiree’,” said the Head of Disdukcapil Klungkung, Ida Bagus Jumpung Gede Oka Wedhana, on Thursday (3/9/2026).
The primary focus of the cooperation between Disdukcapil Klungkung and Kodim 1610/Klungkung is to ensure that the update of occupation status for TNI personnel entering retirement is conducted swiftly and accurately.
Under the mechanism, the personnel department of Kodim 1610/Klungkung will submit data regarding TNI members who are retiring and hold Klungkung ID cards to Disdukcapil Klungkung. Using this data, new population documents will be prepared before the soldiers’ period of service ends.
This cooperation agreement (PKS), Wedhana noted, is a strategic step to maintain the validity of population data for the sake of public services. Equally important, this data update is closely related to fulfilling the political rights of veterans.
“We must ensure that because their population data has not been updated, the individual is not still recorded as an active TNI member. By changing the status to retiree in a timely manner, their population rights can be fulfilled, including their right to vote,” Wedhana explained.
The Commander of Kodim 1610/Klungkung, Lt. Col. Kav Sidik Pramono, welcomed this synergy. According to him, the accuracy of population data is crucial as it directly impacts the rights and obligations of citizens.
“The accuracy of population data is a necessity. We welcome this cooperation and will certainly support its implementation,” said Sidik.
