Klungkung Regency Donates Sacrificial Cow for Eid al-Adha 1447 AH
Klungkung Regency has donated a sacrificial cow for Muslim residents ahead of Eid al-Adha 1447 AH on 27 May 2026. The donation was handed over at Hasanudin Mosque in Semarapura Tengah Village on Monday, 25 May 2026.
Klungkung Regent I Made Satria explained during the handover that the sacrificial cow is part of the newly launched ‘Satria Peduli’ programme this year, which focuses on providing aid to religious communities in Klungkung.
“The handover of the sacrificial animal is a demonstration of the government’s care for all religious communities. We hope this modest donation (punia) will be beneficial and bring blessings to all religious communities,” Satria told detikBali.
The ‘Satria Peduli’ programme aims to strengthen brotherhood, unity, and faith, while enhancing religious tolerance in Gumi Serombotan. Satria hopes that harmony and togetherness will foster collective efforts towards regional progress.
“We will continue this programme in the future. Previously, symbolic aid (punia) was given to PHDI and distributed to all sulinggih in Klungkung. Similarly, this sacrificial animal has been handed to the MUI for distribution. We have entrusted the entire process to the MUI,” Satria explained.
Satria also instructed the Klungkung Agriculture Department to ensure the health of the sacrificial animal. “We have already communicated this to the relevant department,” he added.
The regency’s sacrificial cow donation was received by Klungkung’s MUI Chairman Agus Radiman. Radiman stated the aid demonstrates Klungkung Regency’s commitment to maintaining religious tolerance.
“The value of this donation is not measured by the number of cows given. What matters is not the animal itself, but the significant concern shown by the regent towards religious communities. I believe this gesture will enhance harmony between religious groups and the government,” Radiman said.
“Even if not all Muslims receive a share of the meat, I am certain it will bring significant benefits to us, particularly the Muslim community,” Radiman added.
