Klungkung Prosecutors Keep New Findings in Glass Elevator Case Investigation Confidential
The Klungkung District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari Klungkung) continues to probe the case of the glass elevator construction at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, Klungkung, Bali. However, prosecutors are keeping new findings related to the investigation confidential.
“Its position is still secret; we cannot disclose it to the public yet. This is part of the investigation strategy,” said the Head of the Klungkung District Prosecutor’s Office, R Indra Senjaya, to detikBali on (21/4/2026).
Indra explained that there have been additional witnesses added to the approximately 30 officials who were questioned in December 2025. He emphasised that the investigation process is still ongoing to this day.
“To date, the investigation is still in progress. There are additions to the statements from the prospective witnesses we requested,” Indra clarified.
The investigation into the glass elevator case is focused on issues related to the building permits. He also stressed that the probe has no connection to the investor’s lawsuit against the Bali Provincial Government (Pemprov Bali).
“That has absolutely no connection,” he added.
It is known that the glass elevator project at Kelingking Beach, Nusa Penida, was permanently halted due to several violations, including those concerning spatial planning, the environment, and conservation permits.
The Bali Provincial Government also ordered the investor (PT Indonesia Kaishi Tourism Property Investment Development Group) to dismantle the entire glass elevator structure independently within a maximum of six months. Most recently, the case has entered a new phase with the investor’s lawsuit to the State Administrative Court.
