KL's twin towers reopen after hoax
KUALA LUMPUR (AP): The world's tallest buildings, the Petronas Twin Towers, reopened to tourists on Thursday, a day after a bomb hoax caused Malaysian police to evacuate thousands of office workers and shoppers.
Petronas, the national oil company that owns the landmark, earlier announced the indefinite closure of the towers' skywalk, the only part of the buildings that is not restricted to tenants and staff only.
But in an abrupt reversal, Petronas issued a brief statement saying that the skywalk was being reopened immediately for public visits. No reason was given, and Petronas officials declined to comment.
The skywalk was closed all day on Wednesday and for at least an hour on Thursday.
