The Development Planning, Research, and Regional Innovation Agency (Bapperida) of Klaten Regency, Central Java, has once again organised the 2026 creativity and innovation competition (Krenova). The competition for the public and students was opened by the Head of Bapperida Klaten, Pandu Wirabangsa, at the Klaten Communication and Informatics Office Hall on Tuesday (7 April). The Krenova competition is held to encourage creativity and innovation among the public and students, especially in developing technology-based products. “To that end, various steps and efforts are needed, one of which is through the Krenova competition,” said the Head of Bapperida Klaten in his opening remarks. The Krenova competition, held from 7 to 9 April 2026, serves as a platform to accommodate various creative and innovative products that are beneficial to society. “Thank you to the judges and innovators who have participated in the 2026 Krenova competition. May this competition produce the expected products,” he stated. Meanwhile, the Head of Regional Research and Innovation, Sri Nuryani, explained that this year’s participants consist of junior high school/MTs students, senior high school/vocational school students, and the general public. Bapperida Klaten received 94 participation proposals for the junior high school/MTs level, 127 for senior high school/vocational school, and 27 for the general public. “After initial selection, 50 participants (groups I and II) from junior high school/MTs advanced, 50 from senior high school/vocational school (groups I and II), and 27 from the general public,” she said. The themes of the Klaten Regency 2026 Krenova competition include agribusiness and food, education, crafts and household industry, as well as social and cultural aspects. In addition, energy, forestry and the environment, health, medicines and cosmetics, engineering technology and manufacturing, as well as information and communication technology. “The results of the Krenova competition will be announced on 14 April at the Klaten Regency Pendapa. For this competition, a total prize of Rp67.5 million has been prepared,” revealed Sri Nuryani.
