Klaten Regent Hands Over 10 Cows and 46 Goats for Eid al-Adha Distribution
Klaten Regent Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo symbolically handed over 10 cows and 46 goats for Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah at the Klaten Regency Hall on Tuesday (26 May), attended by the Acting Regent Secretary, Ministry of Religious Affairs officials, and the Klaten Hajj and Umrah Office.
Nurkholis Arif Budiman, Head of the Community Welfare Section, reported the animals would be distributed to 47 recipients including Islamic boarding schools, orphanages, mosques, foundations, volunteers, parking attendants, and people with disabilities. One cow, weighing 930 kilograms and provided by the Indonesian president, will go to Klaten Grand Mosque.
Nurkholis stated the initiative aims to cultivate sincerity and social awareness while supporting those in need of sacrificial meat. Bupati Hamenang Wajar Ismoyo emphasised the annual event reflects the regency’s commitment to community solidarity during Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijriah. “This distribution aims to help those in need. We hope the assistance proves beneficial,” he said.
This year’s sacrificial animal stock stands at 1,234 cows and 1,513 goats, compared to 1,191 cows and 1,458 goats last year. Each animal transported between regions must carry a Health Certificate (SKKH) to ensure safety standards.
