The Food Security and Agriculture Department (DKPP) of Klaten Regency, Central Java, held a public consultation forum on public service standards. Through this forum, service users were given the opportunity to provide suggestions and input for service improvement.

In his opening remarks at the public consultation forum, the Head of DKPP Klaten, Iwan Kurniawan, stated that the forum was a dialogue and discussion activity for the participatory exchange of opinions between service providers (DKPP) and service users.

In the discussion forum, drafts of policies, the impact of policies, the evaluation of policy implementation, or issues related to public services were discussed within the framework of transparency and effectiveness to improve the quality of public service delivery.

“The purpose of holding the public consultation forum is to provide an opportunity for service users to submit proposals, input, and suggestions to service providers regarding the services they receive,” said the Head of DKPP Klaten.

The benefits for the community include a shared understanding between service providers and users, as well as the acquisition of knowledge and certainty regarding services to align expectations with the capabilities of service providers.

According to Iwan Kurniawan, DKPP Klaten provides services to the community, including the provision of medicines/pesticides, the issuance of technical recommendations for the registration of fresh plant-based food (PSAT), and domestic production for small businesses (PDUK).

In addition, DKPP Klaten also provides services related to animal husbandry and animal products, animal slaughtering at slaughterhouses (RPH), animal health services, as well as the provision of certified rice seeds and fish seeds.

The public consultation forum of DKPP Klaten was attended by Rahayu Purwanti from the Organization Section of the Klaten Regional Secretariat and Rizky Windar Amelia, a representative from Unwidha Klaten. The event concluded with the signing of an agreement for the DKPP Klaten Forum.
