KLA, Gulf Air sign code-share deal
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's national carrier has signed a code-
share agreement with Gulf Air that will take effect at the end of
March, newspapers reported Friday.
Under the deal, passengers on both airlines will enjoy lower
fares from the start of February, the Business Times reported.
Bahrain-based Gulf Air may also increase its flights to Kuala
Lumpur to six times a week from five, beginning in March, an
executive was quoted as saying.
The Malay-language Utusan Malaysia newspaper reported similar
details.
The deal will allow the airlines to offer each other's
customers lower fares to destinations beyond Malaysia and the
Gulf region, the Business Times said.
Gulf Air President and Chief Executive Ibrahim Abdulla Alhamer
said fares will be lowered for destinations beyond Malaysia,
including China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, and the Gulf
region, including Abu Dhabi, Muscat and Bahrain.--AP
