KL traffic cops fight haze maze

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): Police have blamed the haze enveloping
Kuala Lumpur for traffic jams around the city, the national news
agency, Bernama, reported.

It quoted the Malaysian capital's traffic police chief,
Kamaruddin Alias, as saying the haze has cut visibility for
policemen relaying information on vehicle traffic flows.

"The policemen stationed at certain skyscrapers cannot see
much as the haze has cut out visibility," Kamaruddin said.

The haze has blanketed the city since mid-August, prompting
the Malaysian government to study its cause and effects on
people.
