KUALA LUMPUR (AP): A high school mathematics teacher who insinuated in an examination paper that Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad's sons had amassed wealth illegally has been transferred to a remote area as punishment, news reports said on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old teacher, who was not identified, was alleged to have used the names of Mahathir's sons, Mirzan and Mokhzani, in math problems where students had to calculate a ratio of money distributed among several people.
Mirzan and Mokhzani live in Kuala Lumpur and are prosperous businessmen.
The teacher, who taught in the northern Kedah state, was alleged to have also used names of several senior Cabinet ministers, including Finance Minister Daim Zainuddin and Trade Minister Rafidah Aziz.
