KL targets RM30m SEAG sponsorship

JAKARTA (JP): Organizers of the 21st Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian (SEA) Games are expecting to raise RM 30 million (US$7.9 million) in sponsorship for the biennial event.

Youth and sports minister Datuk Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday that the organizers were confident of meeting this target.

"We are still discussing it with several companies that have agreed to give sponsorships. We are now on target," he said as quoted by Bernama after chairing the SEA Games Organizing Committee meeting.

Hishammuddin said another private company had agreed to be a main sponsor, or SEA Games partner, bringing to five the number of companies to be granted this right. (yan)
