KL, S'pore hold defense talks

SINGAPORE (AFP): Malaysian air force chief Gen. Suleiman bin
Mahmud met Singapore's Defense Minister Tony Tan on the final day
of a two-day visit here, the government said on Friday.

The Malaysian air force chief also met with his Singaporean
counterpart Lim Chuan Poh and viewed the city-state's aircraft
and air defense systems.

The two countries recently reached an agreement on the use of
Malaysian airspace by Singaporean aircraft during a visit to
Malaysia by Senior Minister Lee Kuan Yew, who had talks with
Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad.
