KL proposes cyberlaws
KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has proposed Malaysia's cyberlaws be adopted by other ASEAN countries to enable the setting up of an international court for enforcement, reports said yesterday.
"Yes, we need to talk to other ASEAN countries so that we can provide a uniform set of laws," he was quoted as saying by the Sunday Star, an English-language newspaper here.
Mahathir said the court would be on the ASEAN agenda but it would be discussed at ministerial level before being presented to the leaders.
"The ministers will have to talk first so that the leaders will have a fair idea about it when they meet (during the informal summit to be held here in December)," he said.
