KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters): Malaysian police said on Tuesday they
had rescued 34 foreign women who had been drugged and forced to
work as prostitutes in a brothel.
They said the women, from neighboring Thailand and Indonesia,
were forced to work at night and drugged so they would sleep
during the day.
The women, along with six men arrested, are being held while
police investigate.
Pictures in the Malay Mail showed rows of women, apparently
sedated, slumbering on the floor of a windowless room after
officers on Monday cut through a metal door leading to the room
they were kept while not working.
