KL palmoil seeks leads
KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters): Malaysia's palm oil futures ended
mostly lower on Thursday as players sought fresh direction with
export figures for the first 20 days of April to be released on
Friday, traders said.
The benchmark third-month July contract ended down five
ringgit at 783 ringgit ($206.05) a ton. Volume was heavy at 1,308
lots.
"People are liquidating their position because the market is
so uncertain. The only highlight is tomorrow's export figures,"
said one trader in Kuala Lumpur.
Traders said expectations of poor exports in April due to
aggressive sales by Indonesia and soybean harvests in South
America were pulling prices down.
Physical April crude palm oil for the southern region was
offered at 775 ringgit a ton against bids at 772.50, and traded
at 775. April (central) saw offers at 780 against bids of 772.50,
and there was no trade.
May crude palm oil (south) saw offers at 785 ringgit a ton
against bids of 775. No trade was reported.
