KL judge found dead

KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Malaysia's former Supreme Court judge,
Eusoffe Abdoolcader, was found dead with a gunshot wound in his
home in northern Penang state late on Thursday.

The 71-year-old judge, who was in his pajamas, was found
sprawled on his bed by his Filipina maid.

A police official Ibrahim Abdul Rahman said a .38 Smith and
Wesson revolver was found near him. Police also recovered two
slugs from the bedroom.

Eusoffe, a widower, lived in a double-story bungalow with his
two Filipina maids and his gardener since his wife Haseena
Abdullah died in 1993. A close friend said yesterday that Eusoffe
had been depressed following his wife's death.
