KL asks S'pore to join supercorridor
SINGAPORE (AFP): Malaysia has urged Singapore to participate
in its ambitious multi-media super corridor project by
contributing to its software requirements, The Sunday Times said.
Hishamuddin Tun Hussein, parliamentary secretary for
Malaysia's ministry of international trade and industry, was
quoted as saying that the project to build an information-
technology hub was not aimed at undermining Singapore.
"There's a perception that we are going to step on each
other's toes. We feel that the world is our market. You have your
strengths, and we have ours, and we can work together,"
Hishamuddin added.
The proposed multi-media super corridor stretches some 50
kilometers from the Kuala Lumpur city center to the Malaysian
capital's new international airport.
