KKP halts operations of PT TSR's private terminal in Central Kalimantan
Pontianak (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has temporarily halted the maritime space utilisation activities at the Private Interest Terminal (TUKS) owned by PT TSR in Sukamara Regency, Central Kalimantan. The suspension was carried out on Tuesday (21/4), after the Special Police for Coastal and Small Islands Area Management (Polsus PWP3K) team discovered indications of violations involving permanent maritime space utilisation without the accompanying Maritime Space Utilisation Activity Compliance Document (KKPRL), stated the Head of the Pontianak Marine and Fisheries Resources Supervision Station (PSDKP) Bayu Yuniarto Suharto in Pontianak on Thursday. He explained that, based on field supervision results, PT TSR is suspected of utilising 0.428 hectares of maritime space for TUKS facility construction without possessing a valid Approval for Maritime Space Utilisation Activity Compliance (PKKPRL). “This finding forms the basis for our enforcement action as a commitment to law enforcement in coastal areas,” said Bayu. As a follow-up, Polsus PWP3K personnel have installed supervision lines and temporary activity suspension signs at the site, witnessed by company representatives. Bayu emphasised that this step is not only focused on law enforcement but also aims to preserve the sustainability of marine ecosystems from potential damage due to non-compliant activities. He added that the alleged administrative violation will be further processed through examination mechanisms in accordance with applicable provisions, referring to Government Regulation Number 28 of 2025 on Risk-Based Business Licensing. “We will closely monitor this process to ensure business actors’ compliance with regulations,” he stated. This enforcement action aligns with directives from the Director General of PSDKP, Pung Nugroho Saksono, who mandates that every business actor engaging in permanent maritime space utilisation must possess a PKKPRL, as an effort to guarantee coastal environmental preservation while providing investment certainty in Indonesia.
