KKP 2027 Budget Ceiling Remains at Rp16.65 Trillion Following Budget Committee Deliberations
The budget ceiling for the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) for the 2027 fiscal year remains at Rp16.65 trillion following discussions by the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) Budget Committee and approval from Commission IV.
The Chairperson of Commission IV, Siti Hediati Hariyadi, stated that the KKP budget ceiling underwent no changes after deliberations by the Budget Committee’s Working Group on Central Government Expenditure.
“Consequently, the KKP budget allocation remains at 16.65 trillion rupiah, as reported in the Commission IV Working Meeting on 1 September 2026,” said Titiek Soeharto, the nickname for Siti Hediati, during a working meeting with the KKP in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The approval refers to the DPR Budget Committee letter Number B/12157/AG.05.02/09/2026, dated 9 September 2026, regarding the presentation of the results of the 2027 State Budget Bill discussions.
In the meeting’s conclusion, Commission IV approved the KKP ceiling at exactly Rp16,653,141,532,000. From this total, the Marine and Fisheries Management Programme received an allocation of Rp12,203,804,814,000, while the Management Support Programme was allocated Rp3,472,660,039,000.
Furthermore, the Environmental Quality Programme was allocated Rp347,815,167,000, the Vocational Education and Training Programme received Rp315,160,829,000, and the Industry Value-Add and Competitiveness Programme was granted Rp313,700,683,000.
Commission IV of the DPR emphasised that the use of this budget must be implemented with good governance and provide tangible benefits for the communities whose livelihoods depend on the marine and fisheries sectors.
“Commission IV of the DPR RI supports the KKP budget allocation to be implemented in a good, transparent, accountable, measurable, targeted, and timely manner,” said Titiek.
According to her, supervision of the implementation of KKP programmes and activities must also be strengthened through coordination with relevant institutions and supervisory bodies to ensure the budget is executed accountably and avoids any irregularities.
Commission IV hopes that the budget will support the improvement of welfare for fishermen, fish farmers, salt farmers, fishery product processors and marketers, as well as coastal communities. The results of the KKP’s 2027 Work Plan and Budget (RKA) discussions will subsequently be submitted by Commission IV to the DPR Budget Committee for final determination.
Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, who was also present at the meeting, stated that the notes and directives from Commission IV would serve as a guide for the ministry in executing next year’s budget.
“All the notes and directions presented earlier will certainly serve as our guide in implementing the 2027 budget,” said Trenggono. He expressed hope that the implementation of KKP programmes could provide optimal benefits for the marine and fisheries sector communities.
“We certainly request the guidance and good cooperation of the Chairperson and all leaders and members of Commission IV so that our shared programmes can truly benefit the community, particularly the fisheries and marine sectors, optimally,” he added.
