KKF to discuss Malik's poetry

YOGYAKARTA: Klompensastro (Kelompok Pecinta Sastra Sore) of the Kedai Kebun Forum (KKF) Art Gallery on Jl. Tirtodipuran is to present Saut Situmorang and Kris Budiman speaking at a book discussion to be held at KKF on Dec. 1, 2004, at 4 p.m.

The work under discussion is Kuburan Bagi Penyair by poet Mulyadi J. Malik.

Printed by Yogyakarta-based publisher Penerbit Ombak, the book contains 87 poems of Mulyadi J. Malik that he has divided into four chapters according to their themes.

They are Cinta Tak Bertepi, Berniaga dengan Tuhan, Kemerdekaan Anak-anak and Manifesto Gelombang Samudera.

The book of the Tulung Selapan, Ogan Komering Ilir, by South Sumatra-born poet, Mulyadi, is also illustrated with drawings by artists Edo Pop, Devi Setiawan, Dadang Imawan, Robi Fathoni and Hayatudin.

The inclusion of drawings in the poetry book, however, is not merely for illustration but to provide a new interpretation from the artists about the poetry.

For KKF, the book discussion is part of its drawing exhibition held under the central theme Kata, Rupa, Tubuh: Sebuah Muara (Inter)Teks (word, shape, body: a form of intertextual expression), organized by Muara Art House from Nov. 25 through Dec. 1, at KKF.
