Task Force Operation Peace Cartenz 2026 has secured Pulan Wonda, alias Kamenak, a member of the armed criminal group (KKB) Kodap XII Lanny Jaya, in Peruleme Village, Mulia District, Puncak Jaya Regency. Pulan was involved in the shooting of the entourage of the then-Papua Police Chief, Tito Karnavian, in 2012 in Pirime District, Lanny Jaya Regency.
The Task Force Public Relations Chief of Operation Peace Cartenz 2026, Commissioner Yusuf Sutejo, revealed that Pulan is an active member of the armed KKB group Kodap XII Lanny Jaya, known for high mobility and involvement in various attacks on security personnel and civilians in the Puncak Jaya and Lanny Jaya areas. He was listed as a wanted person (DPO) and arrested on Thursday (2/4/2026).
“The arrest took place on Thursday, 2 April 2026, around 12:27 WIT. The team conducted monitoring in the Mulia town area of Puncak Regency and detected the suspect’s presence at a motorcycle workshop. The team then set up a blockade. When the suspect passed by on a motorcycle, he collided with the officers’ vehicle and attempted to escape. Officers issued two warning shots, which were ignored, leading to measured decisive action that incapacitated the suspect in his right leg,” Yusuf stated.
Pulan faces the death penalty. He is charged under Article 459 of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, Article 479 paragraph (3) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, and Article 308 paragraph (3) of Law No. 1 of 2023 on Arson and Criminal Acts of Murder, Robbery with Violence Resulting in Death.
