KJMU Recipients Can Continue to S2 and S3 with Jakarta LPDP
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo stated that recipients of the Kartu Jakarta Mahasiswa Unggul (KJMU) will eventually be able to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees abroad through an educational funding assistance programme via the Jakarta Education Fund Management Agency (LPDP Jakarta).
“If they have completed their studies under the KJMU and subsequently wish to continue their education by undertaking a Master’s or PhD using LPDP, it will be permitted,” Pramono said at Jakarta City Hall on Monday.
Pramono noted that the requirements for LPDP Jakarta will be identical to those of the central LPDP. However, recipients of the Jakarta-specific LPDP must hold a Jakarta identity card (KTP DKI Jakarta).
Previously, Pramono also mentioned that the Jakarta Provincial Government is preparing a budget of Rp100 billion specifically for the Jakarta LPDP programme.
According to him, the Rp100 billion budget is expected to be capable of sending 50 to 75 prospective students to universities abroad.
The funds for the Jakarta-specific LPDP programme will be managed by the Jakarta Provincial Government, including decisions regarding scholarship recipients, as well as the selection of universities and study programmes.
Pramono expressed hope that this programme can be realised soon so that its benefits can be felt by the community, providing an opportunity for Jakarta’s youth to pursue education overseas.
