Kitten trapped in Bogor resident's sink, fire department rescues it
A kitten became trapped in a sink at a resident’s home in Rawa Panjang Village, Bojonggede Subdistrict, Bogor, West Java. Initially, residents heard the cat’s meows but could not locate it.
‘A resident reported hearing the cat’s meows and discovered the kitten had entered the sink,’ said Bogor Regency Fire Department Head Yudi Santosa on Friday (29 May 2026).
The incident occurred at approximately 6.21am WIB. Yudi stated that residents attempted to dismantle the sink to free the kitten but were unsuccessful.
Residents then reported the incident to the fire department, which promptly responded to the scene.
The rescue operation involved dismantling the sink. The kitten’s head was stuck and unable to free itself before being rescued.
‘The situation is now stable; the kitten was successfully rescued. The operation took 10 minutes,’ he concluded.
