Kitong Bisa Foundation and Eramet Indonesia Help Underprivileged Students Access University

Many talented children cannot access education due to economic limitations. This prompted the birth of Kitong Bisa Foundation (KBF) as a simple initiative to help them continue their education. Starting with five students and a belief that education can change a person’s future, KBF founder Isaschar Mambrasar built a learning space that became a beacon of hope for many children in his region. KBF is a non-profit organisation focused on human resource development through education, leadership, and youth empowerment in Eastern Indonesia, now supporting hundreds of students. Over time, KBF has not only helped children stay in school but also built a talent development ecosystem that allows young people in Eastern Indonesia to have equal opportunities to grow, achieve, and contribute to their communities. This commitment has led to various strategic collaborations, including with Eramet Indonesia through the Eramet Beyond Scholarship Programme launched in November 2024. Through this programme, awardees receive not only educational support but also leadership coaching, mentoring, capacity building, and opportunities to run social initiatives that benefit their communities. Kitong Bisa Foundation CEO Mohamad Afif Dzulqifli stated in his speech that only 32 per cent of students in Indonesia continue to university after completing high school. He noted that attending university is a privilege, especially with a scholarship, and expressed hope that the awardees would create a real impact for their peers back home. He also urged them to return and help develop their own regions. The Eramet Beyond scholarship programme officially concluded with a closing event on 29-30 June 2026 in Jakarta, where 41 scholarship recipients from various parts of Eastern Indonesia gathered to celebrate their journey, learning, and the impact they have made throughout the programme.
