KIPP activist arrested

JAKARTA (JP): An activist from the Independent Election
Monitoring Committee's (KIPP) Jakarta Branch was arrested
yesterday.

KIPP sources said Andi was arrested for having of copies of
Suara Independen, a publication without a Ministry of Information
publishing permit.

Detailed information on the arrest was not available and
South Jakarta Police Chief Lt. Col. Sisno Adiwinoto said he had
not received any reports. (anr)
