KIP Kuliah 2025 Reaches 1,053,851 Recipients Across 516 Cities in Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Centre for Higher Education Financing and Assessment (PPAPT), under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), reports that the 2025 KIP Kuliah programme will reach 1,053,851 beneficiaries from 516 regencies/cities in 38 provinces across Indonesia.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Wamendiktisaintek), Stella Christie, stated in Jakarta on Monday that KIP Kuliah represents a strategic national investment to provide fair, inclusive, and impactful access to higher education for Indonesia’s future.
“KIP Kuliah and the Government’s Commitment to Education. In 2026, the total KIP Kuliah budget will reach Rp15.3 trillion, allocated for around 1 million KIP Kuliah recipient students. Therefore, we at Kemdiktisaintek continue to work maximally to ensure the implementation of this programme runs smoothly to achieve our shared goals of accessing higher education,” she said.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that there have been no budget cuts to KIP Kuliah; from 2020 to 2026, the budget has instead continuously increased from around Rp6.5 trillion to Rp15.32 trillion.
“Not a single rupiah of the KIP Kuliah budget has been cut in 2024, 2025, or 2026. Therefore, I invite students to become ambassadors of accurate information so that incorrect perceptions about this programme do not arise,” she stated.
For this reason, she encouraged students to make the most of their university opportunities, including building networks, research experience, and critical thinking skills, in line with the vision of Impactful Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
“Universities are the best place to get to know oneself, discover interests, build meaningful experiences, and train systematic and solution-oriented thinking,” said Stella.
M. Syathibi, a student from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at Syiah Kuala University in Aceh and one of the KIP Kuliah recipients, admitted that the KIP Kuliah programme greatly helps him to continue achieving as a student and athlete.
“With KIP Kuliah, it greatly helps my family in funding my studies; I can complete university assignments without worrying about costs. KIP Kuliah also helps me achieve in athletics, with the support from KIP Kuliah that also aids my activities and development as an athlete. Because of this assistance, I am more motivated than before to pursue my studies and achievements,” said Syathibi.
