King's College London opens postgraduate registration at Singhasari SEZ
King’s College London (KCL) Singhasari in the Singhasari Special Economic Zone (KEK), Malang, has opened registration for new students for the MSc Digital Economies and MA Digital Futures programmes for the September 2026 intake. KCL is one of the world’s top universities and a member of the Russell Group, an association of leading research universities in the United Kingdom.
Acting Head of the Investment, Cooperation, and Communication Bureau for KEK Singhasari, Bambang Wijanarko, stated that the opening of registration is a further step in developing KEK Singhasari as a centre for education and global talent development. The presence of the KCL international campus in Indonesia is expected to broaden public access to world-class education without having to study abroad, whilst supporting the improvement of national human resource quality amidst the acceleration of digital transformation.
Prospective students have the opportunity to obtain educational funding through various scholarship schemes, including the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) scholarship programme in accordance with applicable regulations. The LPDP scholarship programme is open to the general public, civil servant candidates/civil servants, military/police personnel, lecturers, researchers or engineers, as well as medical and paramedical staff, with a maximum age limit of 35 to 42 years depending on the applicant category.
According to Bambang, the collaboration between KEK Singhasari and KCL reflects growing confidence among international educational institutions in Indonesia as a strategic partner in the development of science, technology, and innovation. Furthermore, the collaboration demonstrates that SEZ development focuses not only on the industrial, manufacturing, and logistics sectors, but also on knowledge-based service sectors that contribute to enhancing national competitiveness. Through a blended learning system combining asynchronous and synchronous learning with lecturers from London, students receive an education quality equivalent to that provided at King’s College London’s main campus in the UK. Currently, KCL Singhasari continues to expand access to international education for Indonesian talent through postgraduate programmes focused on the digital economy and the future of technology. Information regarding study programmes, registration requirements, and educational funding opportunities can be accessed via the official King’s College London website and related scholarship portals.
