King Abdullah Praises Indonesia's Stance on Peace Efforts in Palestine
Indonesia’s commitment to a two-state solution in the Palestinian conflict has been directly praised by Jordan’s King Abdullah II. The praise was conveyed during a bilateral meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Basman Palace, Amman, on Wednesday (February 25th).
During the meeting, King Abdullah II stated that Indonesia’s position is important in responding to various challenges in the Middle East. “The role of your nation, I think, in all the challenges in the region is very important. I know how committed you are to a two-state solution, how much you value a positive future for the people,” said King Abdullah II.
He said that Indonesia’s commitment to peace is a step that has deep meaning, not only diplomatically but also emotionally for the Jordanian people.
“This is something that, of course, warms our hearts. I know that you are committed to great peace and tranquility. And once again, your sincere commitment to protecting people, all of us, I think, is very important,” he said.
King Abdullah II also expressed Jordan’s readiness to support Indonesia’s role in promoting peace efforts. He believes that Indonesia has a strategic position, both politically and economically, to be actively involved in regional dynamics.
“I look forward to this discussion about how we can help our brothers and sisters in this effort,” he said.
The relationship between Indonesia and Jordan has been established for decades, encompassing cooperation in various sectors, from defense to investment. In a warm atmosphere, King Abdullah II reaffirmed the historical closeness between the two countries.
“It is always a pleasure to meet you, especially in your second home in Jordan. I know that my people, your people, know that we have a very special fraternal relationship between us for many years,” concluded King Abdullah II. (E-4)
