King Abdullah II Drives Car Carrying Prabowo to Airport
AMMAN, KOMPAS.com - King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan was seen driving the car carrying President Prabowo Subianto to Marka Air Base in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday (25/2/2026) local time.
This moment occurred after the two leaders concluded a bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace in Amman on the same day.
From the Palace, King Abdullah II showed his closeness by personally driving President Prabowo to the airport, heading to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), after the President’s working visit to Jordan since Tuesday (24/2/2026).
King Abdullah II exited the car first. He got out from the driver’s seat on the front left side, then waited for President Prabowo, who was sitting next to him during the journey, to exit from the right side.
This moment complemented the series of honors President Prabowo received during his stay in Jordan.
The plane carrying President Prabowo Subianto was greeted with an escort of two F16 fighter jets belonging to the Jordanian Air Force as it entered Jordanian airspace.
This air escort was not just a standard security procedure, but a symbol of high respect from the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan towards the Indonesian Head of State.
In fact, the F16 pilots exchanged messages with President Prabowo. The pilot conveyed a direct greeting from the air.
Through radio communication from inside the cockpit, the pilot conveyed the message of honor.
“Your Excellency Mr. President, Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh. This is Lion One speaking. Your Excellency, on behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II and the people of Jordan, we are honored to welcome you to Jordanian airspace,” he said.
“It is a great honor to escort your flight this evening. We hope you enjoy your visit and have a safe landing. Ramadan Mubarak, Sir,” he added.
