Kimia Farma Diagnostika Strengthens Strategic Collaboration to Accelerate Tuberculosis Elimination in Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kimia Farma Diagnostika (KFD) is strengthening its commitment to supporting the national health programme through a strategic collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Indonesia (FKUI). This collaboration is manifested through a tuberculosis (TB) tracing simulation activity using portable X-ray technology for 300 community members, held in Kampung TB Cilincing, North Jakarta, as part of FKUI’s Community Service programme.
According to data from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Indonesia remains one of the countries with the highest TB case burden in the world, with an estimated hundreds of thousands of new cases each year. The Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia stated at the Coordination Meeting and Strengthening of the Tuberculosis Programme Implementation (23/4) that TB remains a major public health challenge, both globally and nationally, requiring extraordinary efforts and cross-sectoral collaboration to overcome it.
As part of the national health ecosystem with a widespread network of clinic and laboratory services across Indonesia, KFD feels compelled to participate in these collaborative efforts. In this activity, KFD plays an active role in the TB tracing process through the use of portable X-ray equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, enabling faster, more accurate, and efficient screening processes. This approach is expected to strengthen the early detection system and support the acceleration of TB control in Indonesia.
The President Director of PT Kimia Farma Diagnostika, Arie Genipa Suhendi, stated, “The collaboration with FKUI is a strategic step for Kimia Farma Diagnostika to provide more precise, accessible diagnostic services that have a direct impact on early detection and comprehensive TB management efforts.” Through its widespread Kimia Farma Laboratory services network, KFD is committed to continuing to support the national health agenda through service innovations, network strengthening, and partnerships oriented towards benefits for the wider community, as well as becoming part of the solution in realising a healthy Indonesia.
