Kim Kardashian Consumes Dozens of Supplements Until 'Pill Fatigue' — Is It Necessary? Doctor Says
Kim Kardashian’s habit of taking around 35 supplements daily has drawn public attention after she admitted experiencing ‘pill fatigue’ — exhaustion from taking so many pills. She said this on the Good Hang podcast with Amy Poehler. Kim said she splits her supplement intake into three different times each day. She also briefly stopped taking fish oil because she felt tired of swallowing so many pills. However, after a blood test, she said she had to resume taking them as the results showed changes in her body’s condition. ‘The pills are huge!’ Kardashian told People on Friday, 22 May 2026. This has raised the question of whether healthy people actually need to take many supplements every day. ‘If our diet is good, with carbohydrates, protein, fats, vegetables, fruit, and water in amounts appropriate to our needs, then the vitamins and minerals our bodies require are already provided,’ said Dr Inge to Kompas.com on Friday, 22 May 2026. According to Dr Inge, supplements are not a primary need if nutrient intake from daily meals is sufficient. ‘If it’s enough, why add more?’ she said. She explained that vitamins and minerals work best when obtained from natural foods, not solely from pills or additional supplements. Therefore, the government’s ‘Isi Piringku’ (My Plate) concept is considered sufficient to help people meet daily nutritional needs. In that pattern, the body obtains nutrients from a combination of carbohydrate sources, animal and plant-based proteins, vegetables, fruits, and mineral water. ‘Actually, our bodies are adequately supplied if we eat well,’ she said.
