Kim Jong Un's Sister Says US Has Made Asia-Pacific the Most Dangerous Region

Kim Yo Jong, the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has accused the United States of making the Asia-Pacific region the most dangerous area in the world through its foreign policy. “Japan’s military expansion in the Asia-Pacific region is a dangerous development that seriously threatens international peace and stability,” Kim Yo Jong said, as quoted by the North Korean news agency KCNA. Yo Jong assessed that US foreign policy, which is oriented towards maintaining hegemony, has transformed the Asia-Pacific region into the world’s biggest hotspot. She accused the US of threatening Russia’s strategic space through NATO in Europe and undermining peace and security in the Middle East. Yo Jong also blamed the US for Japan’s increased strike capabilities. She claimed the US has supplied long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles to Japan, modified ships to operate the missiles, and created conditions for the implementation of missile launch tests. Japan has also continued to expand its ability to launch pre-emptive strikes by deploying long-range weapons systems on land, at sea, underwater, and in the air. According to Yo Jong, the enhancement of Japan’s military capabilities is a dangerous development that goes beyond the security interests of individual countries.
