Kim Jong Un affirms support for Putin and Russian victory

Seoul (ANTARA) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has declared unwavering support for Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people, while expressing firm conviction in Russia’s victory.

“I am fully confident of Russia’s victory in this sacred war to defend the state’s security interests and international justice. I also pledge to give unwavering support to you and the fraternal Russian people,” Kim said in a reply telegram sent to Putin, as released by KCNA on Monday (14/9).

Kim Jong Un sent the reply telegram in response to congratulations from the Russian president marking the 78th anniversary of North Korea’s founding.

“At present, our two countries and peoples, North Korea and Russia, are strengthening trust and solidarity amidst the fierce storm of history,” Kim added.

“The resolve of myself and the North Korean Government to comprehensively expand and deepen our common struggle with Russia remains unwavering, based on a shared understanding of a bright future for Korea-Russia relations; relations rooted in the tradition of friendship, neighbourly harmony and mutual assistance, as well as a solid alliance,” Kim said.

At the end of the telegram, Kim wished Putin and the Russian people victory and prosperity on their journey towards the future.
