REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, MAJALENGKA — The construction of industrial facilities in the Kertajati Industrial Area has begun, signalling the influx of new investments. This project is expected to drive regional economic growth while opening up employment opportunities.

The Majalengka Regency Government has expressed support for the development of the Kertajati International Industrial Estate Majalengka (KIEM) as a new economic driver in the area.

Majalengka Regent Eman Suherman stated that this construction represents a strategic step to enhance the region’s competitiveness.

“The Majalengka Regency Government welcomes and provides full support for the construction of industrial facilities in KIEM. This is a strategic step in increasing regional competitiveness and accelerating economic growth,” said Eman during the groundbreaking at KIEM on Wednesday (1/4/2026).

Eman explained that the development of the industrial estate in Kertajati aligns with the vision of positioning Majalengka as a new growth centre in West Java, particularly in the Rebana area.

According to him, the presence of this industrial estate will also boost other sectors such as SMEs, services, and supporting infrastructure.

“We hope that the investments entering can provide broad benefits, especially in absorbing local labour and improving community welfare,” said Eman.

The local government is also ensuring support for investment facilitation, including permits and infrastructure.

“We are committed to creating a conducive, safe, and sustainable investment climate, so that investors feel comfortable investing their capital in Majalengka,” said Eman.

This groundbreaking marks the initial stage of developing industrial facilities in KIEM, which is expected to strengthen Majalengka’s position as an industrial area in West Java.
